Buying makeup online can be tricky. How do you know that an image accurately represents the color? How do you know if your computer screen is distorting the color or not? What will it actually look like when it's on?

If all of these questions have run through your head I totally get it and I've been there. That's why we started offering samples! I don't want you to invest upwards of $30 on a product that you will wear once because it doesn't match your skin tone and end up throwing it out. I am here to ensure you have products that you LOVE.

I have always found that finding your perfect makeup shade is hard enough in person, so how could it possibly be done with an online store? First, the beauty of a small business is I am here for you for every stride! I would be honored to help you find your perfect color. Let's chat about your skin type and find a color that works for you.

Second, we offer our a sample packs that include three 1/8 oz samples. I suggest finding the color that you think sounds like the right match and then getting one a bit lighter and one a bit darker.

Not sure about your undertone? I am here for you! However, a trick to finding your undertone is to look at your veins. If they look blue, you have a cool undertone, and if they look green you have a warm undertone. If some veins look green and others look blue, you have a neutral undertone.

Jewelry is also a great way to determine your undertone. People with a cool undertone tend to prefer the look of silver and those with a warm undertone usually like yellow-gold. No preference? You’re probably neutral. Still not sure? No problem. We will figure it out together.

Once you have your sample pack, I want you to take the samples and try them on several times. I know, it is a time investment, but I want you to wear them inside, in natural light and throughout a whole day. I want you to make sure you LOVE your color match. It should look effortless on your skin and blend right into your neck. NOTE: you want to match your neck. Makeup that matches your face and not your neck will never give you the effortless look we are going for.

So, here's what I suggest:

  • Start with clean, dry skin. Apply the 3 sample colors in different places on your face, noting which one is in each place. Make sure to rub the product in fully- no makeup matches perfectly before it is rubbed in.
  • Take a look in the mirror and pick the color that you think looks best. Remove the other colors and apply that favorite color to your face.
  • Now, wear it! Check it out in the mirror. Go outside and snap a selfie. See how it looks and test how it feels. You want to love it in all lighting.
  • If that color turns out not to be the right one, try another or send me a message.

The key to the right color match is you won't really even know it's there. So, barn babe, I can't wait to help you find your perfect match and fall in love with makeup again.
